Sevilla

First port of call for the day was the amazing, awe-inpiring Alcazar...originally a Moorish palace dating back to the 13th century, with lots of add-ons from the 1500s...
Once again I was in photo-heaven...thinking this is the most beautiful building I´ve seen...now that sounds familiar...

After lunch we walked over one of the bridges to check out the Triana...an arty little barrio across the river...

and more tiles...

Back across the bridge after a fossick in a skip netted this writer a couple of pieces of broken tile...treasure!
We happened upon the bull-fighting arena and ventured in for a guided tour...
Plaza dos Toros is open for business every Senday from April to October and for festivals...
We got to enjoy the spectacle without the gore...seeing the arena, the costumes, the heads of some of the toros who had met their Waterloo, and even some of the matadores immortalised...

After such a gruelling experience, it was time for a relaxing ride in el coche de caballo...one of the ubiquitous horse and carts of Sevilla..far more stylish than the trains of shame..

Our trip took us through the traffic and around the main sights...back to the Plaza de EspaƱa and ehding at Giralda Cathedral, where Jed wanted me to post that THIS happened...

                                 smell-cam pooooooooooh

The highlight of the evening, and one of the many of the trip so far, was an exhilarating flamenco performance at the Museo de Balle Flamenco, where we were treated to a wonderful mix of guitar, singing and dance...

Tomorrow we're off to the pueblo blanco (white town) of Arcos de la Frontera and then to Granada for two nights and a visit to Alhambra...
And there ends the use of a computer for a while...it´s back to internet cafes and doing the best I can...
Adios from Sevilla...it really is a most beautiful place...
