Bienvenue a Paris

Tuesday December 21
PARIS

After a pleasant relief-filled journey though the snowy countrysides of both England and France, we arrived into Gare du Nord early afternoon and took the Metro to our fabulous hotel for the next two nights, the Tourisme Hotel in Avenue de la Motte Piquet.
With the Eiffel Tour only just down the road and to the left...an easy 10 minutes' walk...
the first thing we did was,,,

From there we walked though the 7th and found our favourite little restaurant from six years ago, Auberge de Champ du Mars, still run by the same husband and wife team...who it transpired are going to retire at last in February.
Still incredibly cheap for Paris - 20 euros for 3 fabulous courses ( a  mere 2 euro increase in 6 years)
Ben tried snails.
We had the foie gras and confit de canard.
Jed, still rather jet-lagged, fell asleep at the table and missed the whole gastronomic experience!
