Bom Dia from Southern Portugal, or the Eastern Algarve, as you prefer.
We spent New Year´s Eve in the riverside town of Tavira...a meal of very average quality and very high price at the Restaurante Briso do Rio and then across the river with our complimentary bottle of bubbles and little packets of 12 raisins (one for each hour of the countdown to midnight) to see the spectacular fireworks display.
The next day Brent & I explored the town, includung a fascinating scenic tour by way of a huge camera obscura and a mullti-linguist who flipped easily between English and Portuguese, sharing his mine of info about the town.
As I write this, I´m in an internet caf in Olhao, downloading my photos onto yet another flash drive.
That means there won´t be any visuals with this post I´m afraid, but I´ll make it up next time.
Adios for now...the weather is fantastic...and this is winter!!!
