A bit more exploring around Caceres this morning, and our first dash of rain so far this trip...
Next stop was MERIDA. about 40 minutes drive and lots of relics of Rome to see...amazing aqueducts
Then it was off to Portugal...not that you knew when you were actually there, except that the language in the signs suddenly changed and there was a toll bridge...maybe that was the border?
About an hour after Badajoz, we arrived in the gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous little town of Evora and our fantastic hotel for the night, the Albergaria do Calvario.
Now I am in photo heavan....
The search for good food in Portugal is also over....tonight we dined at the fabulous Taberna Tipica Quarta Feira...no menu - you have what you´re given, including the wine & local port, and it´s all fantastic.
